Bad beats: we've all been there. We upset the Poker Gods – how or why is a mystery – and they get angry. They unleash their wrath. And, when you're holding what should be a cast-iron unbeatable hand, in the turn of one card you lose.

Normally in poker that's it. The epic pantheon of bad beat stories grows that tiny bit bigger, but apart from that it's goodnight. But, even when the Poker Gods are angry, we at Circus Poker still love you.

That's why from Monday, March 18th, we're introducing Bad Beat Mondays: a day, every week, when we'll shell out $500 for the worst bad beat in any of our cash games on that day.

$500 for losing? Can't be bad. But we've heard a lot of bad beat tales in our time, so when we say ‘bad' we mean it. To win the cash you'll need to have been holding quad kings or better, including both your hole cards.

You also must have played the hand and lost – you win nothing for folding – and your cash game must have been at least three-handed at the time.

So if your bad beat ticks all those boxes then fire us an email including your user name and the relevant hand number and we'll shower you with love – or, more importantly, half a thou in greenbacks.

In the event that the Poker Gods are especially vengeful, and we get two or more identical bad beat hands, the winner will be the player who claims first.

So be fearless – and get ready for your bad beat. One thing's for sure: we've all got one coming – just pray to those Gods that yours comes on a Bad Beat Monday!

Terms and Conditions

1. Bad Beat Monday promotion will run until 31st May 2010
2. Only hands which are completed between 00:00 and 23:59:59 every Monday will qualify
3. Band Beat Monday applies to real money ring games, not tournament play
4. Qualifying Bad Beat hands must conform to the following rules
a. Texas Hold Em games only
b. 4 Kings or better must be beaten in order to qualify
c. You must use both your hole cards
d. You cannot be beaten by the community cards
e. There must be at least 3 players, including yourself in the hand
f. The Bad Beat hand must not be folded
5. To claim the Band Beat Monday Bonus you must email vipmanager@circuscasino.com within 24 hours of your bad beat occurring
6. You must email your poker nickname and the hand ID
7. The Bad Beat that wins will be the ‘Baddest Beat' (best hand)
8. In the event of two or more Bad Beats being identical, the prize will be shared
9. In the event of no KKKK bad beat or worse being claimed, the prize will roll over to the following week
10. Player nicknames, hands and a summary of the Baddest Beat will be posted on this page every week
