The Jackpot is paid to any player who wins 6 consecutive Rio Sit n Go tournaments, starting at $25,000 the jackpot grows by $10,000 per week until it is won. Usually it is won after 3 to 5 weeks, making a usual Jackpot somewhere between $55,000 and $75,000.
After 12 nail biting weeks of not being won, the Rio Jackpot rose from $25k to $145k – one of the highest jackpot prizes we’d ever seen.

He overcame adversity, and won it, meaning he just needed one more victory to get his hands on the $145,000 Jackpot. Cool as ice our winner had his sights firmly set on that $145k jackpot and nothing was going to stand in his way. By 16:45pm there were just two players left and just when a monster hand was needed, he was dealt a King Spades and King Clubs, surely his Kings would not be cracked again?.
When the contender pushes all in from the small blind, the call is instantaneous, the contender shows 6h4s – making the odds roughly 80% in our hero’s favour!
The flop improves the contenders chances with 3s7h3h giving them a 5 for a straight, or two hearts for a flush, the turn of 2s doesn’t help him and removes his flush chance so he’s left needing a 5, which doesn’t hit. 9d completes the flop and our player from Canada is the winner!
