Cake Poker Network had to call off all poker tournaments over the weekend after connectivity problems interfered with players' connections to servers.
A statement on the Cake Poker Blog read: "Over the last week, the Cake Network experienced a series of connectivity issues that has culminated in a prolonged interruption of services."
The problem was tracked down to an external connection fault which was interfering with connections to the database.
The company decided to shut down the network to minimise disturbances to players.
Sites which rely on Cake Poker's network includesports book.com and BetUS.
