The World Series of Poker Tour which has taken in many cities and states across the globe is now due to stop in France, and the main event in the France leg is to be televised.

The event has a buy-in cost of €10,000 Euros and is widely considered to be one of the main events in the poker calendar. It is due to start on May 8th with the final table set to be held on May 15th.

The Aviation Club De France is hosting the event at the Parisian Club, and it is also due to hold another event called the High Rollers at around the same time.

Both events are to be televised, and it is expected that the exercise will raise the profile of both the WPT and the French venue it will have for this particular leg.

Match Room Sport are the company who are to be filming the two events and the managing director, Eddie Hearn, speaking to Cardplayer.com, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with the WPT on this exciting project. The WPT has established itself as the number one tour in poker and bringing their prestigious events to Europe is great news for players, broadcasters and the game of poker.’

Meanwhile, online poker continues to enjoy massive success, with revenues rising consistently throughout the world.
