The Kansas Lottery Commission is to meet to discuss a possible new casino build within the state boundaries.
The new casino is expected to be built south of Wichita, and the facility would be state owned, with a profit sharing plan in place between the state and the developers who win the contract to build and manage the unit.
The Chisholm Creek Partnership, based in St Louis, withdrew their application to build a casino in the area, which caused an upset in that it left Kansas lawmakers with a decision as to whether or not allow a new firm to bid.
Kansas law states that a casino can be built in each of four areas outlined in the state plans, and any new contract with any developer would be between the state and that developer.
After the Lottery Commission meet it will be clear if they have agreed to take in new bids, leaving developers with 90 days in which to deliver such bids.
