Super Bowl brings in revenue to casinos

The American Football annual Super Bowl tournament brought a rush of players to online casinos.

The boost also helped land based casinos, with both sectors finding revenue jumping up by millions of dollars over Super Bowl weekend.

Land based casinos obviously became busier during the weekend, but online casinos saw massive market share due to the fact that they are easier to place a bet at.

Many online casinos reported a massive increase in the number of new players signing up to their services.

In the Super Bowl the New Orleans Saints were generally viewed as the underdogs of the final, but they managed to press on valiantly and take the title from under the noses of the Colts.

What surprised many commentators as well as sports fans was the final score, which saw the Saints win by 31-17.

There was a 14% increase in the number of wagers placed with casino operators this year around the Super Bowl event.

The online casino industry is doing very well, with growth shored up by well managed sites.

However, the land based casino industry has seen a number of closures, caused by financial losses during the recession.
