A father of five won a major poker tournament at Caesers Atlantic City, winning a cash prize totalling over $61,000.
Paul Vogel is 42, and is an Information Systems Manager from Merrick New York.
The No Limit Hold’Em Tournament at Caesers Atlantic City had a buy in at $1,000.
Vogel also earned his first gold ring, a prestigious occasion, given to all tournament champions in the World Series of Poker circuits.
Mr Vogel considers himself to be a recreational poker player, and spends most of his time on online poker sites.
This was the biggest day for earnings Mr Vogel has had so far in his poker career.
The two day tournament held 196 entrants, with the majority of the players having to leave early on day one, which lasted for a total of 14 hours.
On day two there were four tables of players, with the day lasting a little longer, at eighteen hours in total.
The top eighteen finishers were allowed to divide up the prize pool, which totalled over $190,000.
The tournament was held inside the Palladium Arena at Caesers, with no previous World Series of poker winners in the final nine players.
