Posted by Carl Barnett on 18 Mar 2010 at 09:03

A new television show is due to air in Canada this week with the aim of bringing news and insight centred on the world of online gambling and gambling in general.

The Jackpot is intended as a news and editorial magazine style show that gives viewers and insight into the glamorous and exciting aspects of online gambling. Victor Malarek is the show’s reporter, and he aims to find news from around the world.

Calvin Ayre, playboy online gambler and founder of an established gambling portal, is already reported to be featured on the show.

It is intended that The Jackpot will also focus on other aspects of the industry, such as gambling in Antigua, which is a renowned hot spot for online gambling enthusiasts, as well as a tax haven.

In addition, the show will serve a factual remit by reporting on aspects of gambling history.

For example, one episode will feature a report on the origins of online gambling, with editorial on the Mohawk Indians from the Kahnawake Reserve.

Online gambling is often under scrutiny in North America, with the UIGEA making it illegal to process payments related to gambling online.
