Italy legalises bingo online

A major coup has taken place in Italy in its gambling industry, with online bingo being legalised, after it was outlawed.
Popular around the world, online bingo games were legalised at the end of December 2009, but the outcome of this move was complicated by a court.
The administrative court of Italy’s Lazio region made a ruling that compromised the regulation.
The court stated that the approval of the actual decrees that contributed towards the regulation of online bingo were not compatible with other rules and regulations that Italian law demands.
The Lazio court took action in this matter by suspending the decree. However, another legal body, the Administrative court of Appeal, has just overturned that decision, ordering the full suspension of the Lazio court’s decision.
This means that online bingo is now completely legal to play in Italy. A number of online casino operators will be cheered by the news, with online casino operations enjoying massive growth in recent months.
The current storm in the US with the UIGEA being open for further discussion in June means that online gambling is a popular topic in the World’s media at the moment.
