Billionaire Carl Icahn has bought the Tropicana casino and has plans to make it a successful venue for gambling in the United States.
Icahn has made it clear that he wishes to improve the quality of both the gambling and entertainment at the resort.
The Wall Street billionaire has already made it possible for the casino to make some new and positive bookings this week, with entertainment due to be provided by Craig Ferguson and Chris Daughtry.
Both these men have recognised presence on American television, and will prove to be popular draws at Tropicana.
Tropicana President and CEO Mark Giannantonio made a statement to the press earlier this week that hinted at the new way of thinking at Tropicana.
Speaking to the press, he said: It’s a whole new year, new energy, new era at The Tropicana.’
‘Now, with a great partner like Carl Icahn at our side and our staff of dedicated and hardworking employees, we can really move the Tropicana forward as the pre-eminent entertainment resort in Atlantic City. We’re thrilled about the possibilities.’
Gambling is steadily growing in popularity in the United States, with a growing number of US citizens playing at online casinos.
