The government in the Czech Republic have struck upon a new method to ensure that they can bring new revenue in for one of their country’s most needy causes. For a while now the government of the country have been discussing the matter of how best to fund the sports activities that take place in the Czech Republic, and they have decided to think about the possibility of using revenue from gambling. The sports program in the country has not had the most positive of times in recent years, with funding being a particularly thorny issue.
The European Union undertook a study into the matter recently, and their findings showed that the Czech Republic spent 10 Euros per capita on sport funding. This makes the Czech Republic part of a club that includes Bulgaria and Malta, who are the only countries who spend less than the Czech Republic on sports.
The political parties involved in government agree that combining lotteries and sports gambling would help to bring in revenue.
There may also be room for using the revenue from online gambling too, to the extent that the country will take steps to legalise it.
