Online casinos are becoming instrumental in making gambling much more accessible, and now another generation, different to the young generation that has so far dominated, are beginning to enjoy using online gambling sites.
For a long time now the older generation have found it difficult to become acclimatised to the world of computing, and the internet gambling market is quickly becoming the way in for many of them.
The University of Pennsylvania and Penn State University have carried out a study of 1000 elderly people, and the findings demonstrate that online gambling has a strong attraction for this demographic, as well as great health benefits.
The study found that 70 per cent had been involved in gambling activity in the past year, and that there was a natural progression towards online gambling and gaming sites.
The curiosity to play gambling games online has lead to an increase in computer literacy, with the study finding that older people are overcoming the nervousness they usually feel with computers when gambling is involved.
