Canada has come to a point where it is beginning to make moves towards relaxing restrictions on online gambling.
Quebec, for example, has recently added an online casino element to their lottery system.
The system is called Loto-Quebec, and the Quebec authorities have put in place options that offer online choices as regards the playing of the Loto.
Canadians have always had tough gambling laws to contend with.
Ever since the early nineteenth century, the law in the country meant that gambling enthusiasts had a rough time indulging in their sport.
Online gambling enthusiasts have had a particularly difficult time in recent years, with Canadian online operators of casino games finding it impossible to function in Canada.
The law has been such that there has been an unusual situation, with North American players able to play at online casinos, but not to play at online casinos run by Canadian operators.
This is all set to change, with the Quebec changes being early signs of this. The Canadian government are said to be considering changing the laws, meaning that Canadian operators should be able to operate in their own country soon.
