The state of Pennsylvania has approved more gaming and casino opportunities within its boundaries, increasing the level of gambling activity once again.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has granted more licenses this week to casinos, bringing the number of licensed and operating casinos in the state to considerably higher levels.
Three casinos saw their applications for licenses approved this week, the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Mounty Airy Casino Resort and the Sands Resort in Bethlehem.
The three casinos have been given permission by the Gaming Control Board to have in place up to 250 separate gaming tables. This permission comes into effect later this year, and will see revenue opportunities rise.
The local government also gets a percentage of any of the profits that are derived from gaming opportunities.
Mount Airy expects to see a large increase in the revenue it derives from the addition of poker to its offerings.
The casino has stated that it expects to see ‘an increase of 30% in revenue’ due to poker tables being added to the floor.
This increasing confidence in casinos and gaming in general is mirrored in the world of online gambling and online casinos, which have seen similar levels of growth worldwide.
