Penn National Gaming Inc has decided to rename its Charles Town casino complex in the near future, as part of its revamp of the site.
The name change will occur in July of this year, to coincide with new developments in the business unit, which is expected to offer many more table games and gambling opportunities in the next few months.
The new name is to be Hollywood Casino at Charlestown Races, and the theme throughout the casino complex will be Hollywood and movie industry based, with many distinct themed rooms and areas within which gamblers can play.
The General Manager for Charles Town, Al Britton, speaking to Marketwatch.com, said: ‘The Hollywood Casino brand has been very successful for Penn national in the Pennsylvania, Indiana, Baton Rouge, Maine, Mississippi Gulf coast and Aurora Illinois markets. With the introduction this summer of table games – including blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat and poker, expanded Hollywood decor, atmosphere and new entertainment offerings, this will be the perfect time to utilise this valuable brand.’
These developments come at a time when the land based casino industry as a whole is seen to be suffering somewhat, with much of the revenue being stolen by the increasingly popular world of online casino play.
