Isildur1, one of the most mysterious and celebrated online poker players in the world, has pulled out of a major tournament.

His actions are generally being viewed as highly mysterious, especially since he himself contacted the tournament’s organisers to arrange for his appearance, which was to be televised.

The tournament was PartyPoker Big Game IV, a major event that had garnered a lot of publicity - principally due to the fact that Isildur1 was due to appear.

The game is due to last for 48 hours and is expected to have a cash only format.

Tony G, the organiser of the event, has expressed his disappointment at the mysterious chain of events that has led to his star appearance not taking place.

Speaking to OnlinePoker.net, Tony G said: ‘To say I am disappointed is an understatement. It has left a bad taste in my mouth. What you have to understand is that he reached out to me first and asked and then agreed to play.’

Isildur1’s agreement to appear in the game was made clear in an announcement that took place on April 1st, which led many to believe it was an April fool’s joke.
