The channel s expected to go live on June 8th 2010, with further expansion expected in September, with 5 million more satellite viewers.
The French online gambling market is expected to become regulated further in the summer, in favour of players and operators.
The channel has already released information that confirms it is in talks with online gambling providers as regards to programming and advertising opportunities.
Chris White, MD of The Poker Channel told GamingIntelligence.com: ‘We’re delighted to be launching a channel that is 100% French, and to finally give both advertisers and viewers what they’ve been demanding for so long. This is a fantastic opportunity to promote the game to an even larger audience, from beginners to pros.’
