Frank’s bill to be heard

Barney Frank has been campaigning for some time to allow for more constructive regulation of online gambling, and he has produced a bill that will, if successfully introduced, allow for the online gambling community to move towards legalisation.
On April 16th, Congress will formally hear the bill, which means that Frank’s plans for regulation ad monitoring of online gambling will be scrutinised and assessed.
The main bill that will be assessed will be that which proposes the legalisation of online gambling in the United States of America.
There is a second bill, however, that also proposes that the UIGEA be put back for another year, which will allow for proper scrutiny of legislation that pertains to this activity by Congress.
There have been many opponents to the UIGEA, which bans online payments of gambling activity run by an online casino.
Michael Waxman, speaking to OnlineCasino.org, said: ‘This hearing will provide further evidence that UIGEA is a poorly crafted law that simply does not work.’ Waxman is a spokesman for the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling initiative.
Frank’s bill making has encouraged other politicians to do the same, and has created many enterprising ways that the government could spend tax dollars derived from online gambling.
