Officials are working on a new gambling policy as part of a move to introduce a big new casino close to Birmingham.
Solihull Council has lent its support to a facility which could have 150 slot machines and a maximum jackpot of £4,000, the Solihull News reports.
Original plans for a regional 'super' casino collapsed but the government has since approved a smaller casino project for Solihull, along with 15 other local council areas in England.
The candidate spots include a site at Bikenhill which would involve the NEC Group and gaming firm Genting Stanley, featuring a £90 million investment and involving hotel and leisure facilities, with a casino part of the plans.
The Solihull News reports Solihull Council has now started a consultation on a draft gambling policy as part of finally bringing a new gaming destination to the area.
The public are now being given the chance to air their views on the casino's competition rules and any regeneration work a potential developer should be asked to include before the application process is finalised.
Although the Bikenhill plan is on the cards, the final casino could be anywhere in the Solihull borough area and local officials are obliged to look at all bids from different casino firms separately.
